PROJECT NEEDS

Baby and Children’s Clothing

Unfortunately, we are no longer able to accept baby and children’s clothing and pushchairs. Other charitable organisations who may be able to help with these items are:

Bed Linen and Towels

In addition to receiving new bed linen items, we continue to be grateful for donations throughout the year, of washable bedding in good condition, for both double and single beds e.g. duvet covers, pillow cases, and flat sheets. We can take towels which are washed and are in good condition. Please note that bath sheets are too large and would not be suitable. We also accept curtains. Please supply the measurements.

Due to hygiene and safety reasons, we are unable to accept used duvets or pillows.

Fix, Fit and Furnish Project

Our Trustees have recently made the difficult decision to close our second hand furniture project. This means we will no longer be collecting or delivering furniture in Merton. Unfortunately, the rising costs of running a van and renting storage space now exceed the cost of purchasing new items.

We will continue to support local families, but our donation needs are changing. We are now only able to accept donations of bedding, non perishable food, and new toys. Bedding items needed include sheets, duvet covers, mattress protectors, pillowcases, and blankets. Please note that we are unable to accept duvets or pillows.

Although we no longer accept donated furniture, our new Fix, Fit and Furnish Project, will continue to accept Referrals for furniture. We will purchase items directly to meet these needs. Our DIY team will also continue to provide support with fixing curtain rails and poles, hanging curtains, as well as assembling flat pack furniture.

We are currently looking for additional volunteers to join our team and help us continue this important work.

Second hand furniture can be donated to the DONS Local Action Group:

Kitchen Items

Notice:
Please note that until further notice, we will not be taking any donations for kitchen items.

FAMILY SUPPORT PROJECT

Food Items

From December, when harvest supplies have been used up, we will be in urgent need of more food donations. We welcome offers from churches, schools and other groups to make special appeals for food. We are also grateful for individual donations. For the list of items we require for our Family Support deliveries please click on List of Family Support food items

Gift Cards

We may give gift cards for the purchase of fresh food to some of the families referred to us whom we regularly support. We would be grateful for £25 gift cards for Tesco, Sainsburys and Asda.
